ABOUT ME

I’m Zahra Azimzade, a painter and illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden.

My work is rooted in a simple curiosity about the world around me — nature, animals, people, light, and the quiet moments of everyday life. I’m interested in capturing not only what something looks like, but also the feeling and atmosphere behind it.

I work with a variety of traditional media, including oil, acrylic, oil pastel, and gouache, as well as illustration. My approach to painting has been influenced by Impressionism, particularly its use of light, colour, movement, and atmosphere. At the same time, I enjoy keeping my work personal and allowing each piece to develop naturally through the process.

My work has been exhibited in group exhibitions in England and Turkey, and I continue to develop my practice and take part in exhibitions and art projects.

Alongside my personal work, I also take on commissioned paintings and illustrations, creating original pieces based on personal stories, memories, and meaningful subjects.

I’m always exploring, experimenting, and developing my practice. For me, painting is an ongoing process of observing, learning, and finding new ways to express the things that inspire me.
